Some of life's most enduring lessons are never taught in a classroom.  They are learned one conversation, one example, and one shared experience at a time.

Created for the Monterey Boys & Girls Club's Teen Wing, Lessons celebrates the transformative power of mentorship.  Inspired by Davis Love III and a young participant in the Club's Golf for Kids program, the sculpture captures a quiet moment between two generations - a seasoned golfer and an aspiring young player walking side by side.

​

Although golf provides the setting, the true subject is character.  Integrity, perseverance, humility, respect, and confidence are values that transcend sport and shape lives long after the final putt is made.

Commissioned as a lasting tribute to the Monterey Boys & Girls Club's commitment to young people, Lessons honors the mentors who recognize potential, invest their time, and help others discover what they are capable of becoming.

Because sometimes the greatest lesson isn't how to play the game...
