Golf legend Arnold Palmer was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974 and received the PGA Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998. He received numerous awards and accolades for his sports achievements, contributions to golf and his philanthropic work.
Arnold Palmer was awarded the highest civilian awards in the United States. In 2004, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and in 2012 he was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.
He was nicknamed The King by Arnie’s Army not only for his prowess on the golf course but for his charity work. Arnold Palmer will always be remembered as a great champion who connected to everyone with kindness. His charismatic and humble personality make him one of the most popular figures in sports history.
